Shimmering hues and layered textures mirror the delicate interplay of water and light, invoking a sense of discovery in hidden and tranquil spaces. "Inflatable Dream" A vibrant collision of colour and movement, Inflatable Dream captures the playful energy of summer nostalgia. Layers of texture and spontaneous brushstrokes create a dynamic sense of rhythm, inviting the viewer into a world of warmth, motion, and nostalgia. This piece is an ode to buoyancy—both in water and in spirit. Acrylic, oil pastel & Impasto on canvas. 45cm x 61cm
“Coastal Breeze” A soft yet vibrant fusion of colour and movement, Coastal Breeze evokes the feeling of warm summer winds rushing over sunlit waves. Swirling hues of pink, purple, turquoise, and yellow blend effortlessly, creating a dreamlike sense of fluidity and lightness. This piece captures the essence of motion—like wind through hair, waves rolling to shore, or a carefree afternoon spent beneath a pastel-hued sky. A painting that invites both calm and energy, it embodies the serenity and joy of endless summer days. Oil on canvas.
"Currents in Motion" from Mia's body of work titled Currents & Pathways. Currents in Motion is a reflection on the ebb and flow of life—its unpredictability, momentum, and the beauty of surrendering to its rhythm. Layers of swirling colour and gestural marks create a sense of fluid movement, like waves shifting with the tide or wind weaving through a changing landscape. There is a tension between control and release, a reminder that sometimes the most powerful path is to trust the current and let it carry you forward. Acrylic, Oil & Spray Paint on canvas. 75cm x 91cm.
"Rise and Shine" a vibrant celebration of summer mornings, where birdsong fills the air and the scent of fresh blooms awakens the senses. With it's glowing colours and star horse figure, this piece embodies playfulness, youthfulness and the magic of a new day. Framed in Vic Ash, it radiates light within. 72cm x 102cm
"Giddy Up" A playful celebration of warm nights under the stars. Acrylic, Spray Paint & Oil Pastel on canvas. 56cm x 61cm

"Apricity" is a reflection of that rare and cherished moment when the warmth of the sun breaks through the chill of winter. This painting evokes the sense of relief and tranquility that comes with feeling the sun’s warmth on your skin, offering a moment of solace amidst the crisp, winter air. The delicate balance of light and shadow mirrors the contrast between the season's cold embrace and the fleeting warmth that offers a quiet, restorative power. Acrylic & Oil Pastel on canvas. 51cm x 71cm.
"Spring Awakening" Created during a time of personal transformation, this piece reflects both nature’s renewal and my journey into motherhood. Expressive marks echo the rhythm of blooming and becoming, capturing the beauty of transition and the boundless possibilities of a new season. Acrylic, spray paint & oil on ply wood. 120cm x 90cm.
"Garden in Bloom" is a personal celebration of transformation, capturing the vibrant shift I felt after becoming a mother. The loud, electrifying colours represent the joy and energy that surged through me as I embraced this new chapter of life. Each stroke is a reflection of the growth and renewal I experienced—an awakening into a more vibrant, confident version of who I am. Garden in Bloom is my way of celebrating the powerful evolution that motherhood brought, as I blossomed into a self that is uniquely mine, full of strength, love, and unapologetic colour. Acrylic, Spray Paint & Oil on canvas. 91cm x 76cm.
“Daffodils in the Garden” A celebration of spring’s golden awakening, Daffodils in the Garden is inspired by the radiant blooms in Mia’s mum’s garden. Layers of warm yellows, fresh greens, and soft pastels capture the essence of daffodils dancing in the breeze, bathed in sunlight. A piece filled with warmth, movement, and nostalgia, it embodies the joy and fleeting beauty of spring in full bloom. 52cm x 72cm, Acrylic & Oil Pastel on canvas.
"The Dock of the Bay" translates the soulful essence of Otis Redding’s song into a vivid abstract landscape of colour and movement. This song has been a constant presence in Mia's life, first heard as a child while watching her mother paint to Otis Redding’s music. Since losing her mother a few years ago, playing nostalgic songs in the studio has become both therapy and comfort—a way to feel her presence and honour their shared love of art. In The Dock of the Bay, Mia invites the viewer into this deeply personal space, where memory, music, and emotion drift together like the tide. Acrylic, Impasto & Oil Pastel on canvas. 61cm x 61cm
"Shadows On My Drink" bursts with vibrant energy. Blending electric blues, fiery oranges, and lush greens into a dynamic, textured composition. Shadows on My Drink captures the fleeting dance of light and shadow as they ripple across a surface, evoking the glow of neon signs reflected in a late-night drink. Fluid brushstrokes and layered colour create a sense of movement, immersing the viewer in the electric energy of the night—where conversations blur, music hums, and the world glows in shifting, luminous hues. Acrylic, Impasto, Spray Paint & Oil Pastel on Canvas. 50cm x 40cm
Artist Statement
As a self-taught artist, my practice is deeply emotion-driven, shifting day to day with the ever-changing world around me. Each piece is a reflection of feeling—sometimes bold and chaotic, other times soft and meditative—capturing what words often cannot. Inspired by the fluidity of nature, light, and personal experience, my work is an intuitive process, a form of therapy where color, texture, and movement become my language. Through abstraction, I invite viewers into a space of emotion and energy, where meaning is felt rather than explained.
